Attended a birthday dinner in the semi-private room. We had a fixed menu. I enjoyed the Bayou salad and crab fritters. I didn't care for the alligator bites or goat cheese on salad. I love the Shrimp & Grits. I didn't like the Bourbon cookies, they were burnt on bottom and didn't like the drink that accompanied them for dipping. I don't like Bread Pudding, but their pudding is tasty.
This was our first time having dinner there. We already loved the brunch, but dinner was amazing. The food just makes you happy and feels like you are at home. Our waitress Elizabeth was awesome and was so attentive. The chef really did his thang in the kitchen. Definitely recommend everyone go try this restaurant out!!!!
This place is a MUST! I reserved a table at Bourbon Bayou Kitchen for my husband's birthday and it did not disappoint.
First of all, the interior is absolutely beautiful and the music puts you in a such a relaxed mood. To top it all off, the food is top tier and the portions are quite filling.
My husband thoroughly enjoyed his birthday dinner. And I loved my selections.
This was our first time dining at this establishment, but it most certainly will NOT be our last.
4/5!
A few friends and I decided to venture out to Ashburn and give Bourbon Bayou a try. Some southern cuisine paired with some drinks sounded like a nice night out.
The Food: I went with the Fried Chicken entree and also had some Gator bites. To start, the gator bites were very good! Cooked/fried perfectly with a nice flavor. However, for the price with only a few pieces, we all felt a little ripped off. I wouldn't recommend getting it and save your money towards another item. The Fried Chicken however, was absolutely delicious! The chicken was fried perfectly and the meat itself was tender and juicy throughout. And the portion size was absolutely huge!
The Service: Service was great. Staff were friendly and attentive. Orders came out in a timely manner and water refills and check ups were done regularly.
The Atmosphere: The restaurant is very nicely decorated, modern and clean. Plenty of seating inside.
Overall, a 4/5. Delicious food and drinks. Food options are pretty pricey, but the portion sizes make up for it.
The food was great, except the kitchen was a little heavy handed with the Salt on the steak rub.
Chicken mushroom soup was awesome.
They were out of a signiture dish - alligator bites. :(
What a beautiful spot! The interior is actually gorgeous and very much a ~vibe~. Visited for brunch and the menu has a great range of options. Food for fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back for more!
Best Thing I Ever Ate: Brunch
Not only did I eat almost 80% of the brunch menu, but I also enjoyed most of the dishes, which is rare for most brunch places. I particularly enjoyed the Pork Belly Benedict, the Stone Fruit Toast, and the NOLA Fruit Bowl. The only thing missing was Bananas Foster. (photos will post later)
Drinks and the food were both incredible! We shared the fried mussels and alligator as an appetizer, which were plated really nicely and were delicious! For an entrée, I had the shrimp etouffee which had such a creamy and flavorful sauce. I also had the Long Way to Go cocktail which was also really good! The burnt orange slice is a really nice addition to the cocktail. My husband had the Bayou pasta which had thick pappardelle (different than what some other review photos show, but my husband said he preferred the pappardelle.) For a drink, had the Hurry-Cane cocktail which was also tasty.
Edit: came back and the menu is expanded! We tried the salmon and crab cake sandwich, and it's still as good as the first time.
